AI Developer Experience & Media Lead
Job Description:
AI Developer Experience & Media Lead
Redwood City, CA | Hybrid (4 days/week on-site) | Full-time
Compensation: $160,000 to $230,000 plus competitive equity
About the Company
Our client is a well-funded, early-stage AI company (founded 2023) building technology that makes AI model training dramatically more efficient by intelligently curating and optimizing training data. Their approach delivers substantially faster training and lets smaller models outperform much larger ones, and it has earned real credibility across the AI research community. The team is scaling quickly this year on the back of a strong customer pipeline, and this is a greenfield hire to build their media and developer experience function from the ground up.
The Role
You will be the technical voice of a company doing genuinely novel work in AI. Sitting at the intersection of engineering and media, you will turn cutting-edge research into narratives, demos, threads, and videos that resonate with a technical audience, and build a recognizable presence for the company across X and beyond. This is a build-it-from-scratch role with real ownership.
What you will be doing
- Turn research and product work into technical storytelling: threads, demos, videos, and launches that a technical audience finds genuinely interesting.
- Build and run a recognizable, native voice on X day to day, including replying, quote-posting, and joining live conversations in real time.
- Help the founders and researchers show up authentically in their own voices.
- Own research launches end to end across X, the technical blog, and video.
- Build real relationships with researchers, open-source developers, AI creators, and technical founders.
- Bring community feedback back to the product and research teams.
- Run experiments across formats and channels, and use engagement data to sharpen strategy.
Tech stack: X (Twitter), Video Production, AI/ML, Python, Technical Writing, Content Strategy, Social Media Analytics
Requirements
- 2 to 7 years in technical content, developer marketing, or DevRel within AI/ML.
- An active personal X (Twitter) account with a technical following of at least 1,000. This is essential to the role.
- Hands-on experience creating content that explains technical concepts for social platforms.
- Ability to build technical demos across code, notebooks, and video.
- Strong short-form technical writing across threads, posts, and blogs.
- Able to work on-site in Redwood City 4 days a week.
Nice to Haves
- A CS, ML, or technical degree, or equivalent self-taught depth.
Why Join
- Own a brand-new media and developer experience function, with the freedom to build the playbook as you run it.
- Work directly alongside world-class researchers, so your storytelling is authentic and technically grounded.
- Join at an inflection point where brand and community presence compound most, with meaningful early-stage equity.
- Strong benefits: fully covered health, 401(k) match, unlimited PTO, wellness and learning stipends, daily lunches, and relocation support where needed.
