Senior Growth & Strategic Initiatives Manager
We create and deliver tailored marketing strategies for Expedia Group’s brands, focusing on establishing strong connections and cohesive experiences for travelers and partners. We leverage our functional expertise and creative excellence to build trust and loyalty for our brands through innovative marketing approaches and technology.
We are looking for a Senior Growth & Strategic Initiatives Manager to help lead the next chapter of creator and social at Expedia Group. Creator has evolved from a marketing channel into an enterprise capability that can shape brand equity, audience growth, content efficiency, reputation, acquisition, loyalty, and revenue. Our Creator & Social team builds trust, relevance, and demand through creative ideas, strong partnerships, and a deep understanding of travelers on social.
Working across brand-level creator leads and pods, you will connect the macro business environment to brand strategies, champion the strongest work, and create the strategic center of excellence that enables greater clarity, integration, and scale.
This leader will connect business strategy, social, creators, partnerships, and emerging commercial models—identifying not simply how to activate opportunities, but which opportunities the business should pursue and why. This is not a traditional campaign execution, talent-management, influencer-sourcing, or content-calendar role. You will mobilize, integrate, scale, measure, and champion the work that makes creator and social valuable across the business.
In this role, you will
- Determine how to win with creators and social—whether through creator, social, talent, partnership, content, affiliate, or a combination—and turn that choice into a compelling story that sells the strategy, investment, and path to impact
- Shape the enterprise portfolio of creator and social investments—help determine which cultural, entertainment, sports, celebrity, platform, and affiliate opportunities best solve priority business problems, create distinctive audience value, and compound across brands and markets; recommend what to fund, scale, sequence, or decline based on expected impact, commercial potential, and opportunity cost
- Own global expansion and cross-brand integration by determining what should travel across markets, what requires localization, and what should remain market-specific; scale high-quality assets and creator-led storytelling for growth and paid social channels
- Champion and scale creator business models, including affiliate monetization, creator commerce, loyalty integration, product and content partnerships, performance economics, creator-owned audiences, and platform partnerships
- Integrate across brand-level creator leads and up-level brand-level strategies in partnership with their owners; connect those strategies to cross-brand and enterprise opportunities while identifying shared systems, learning, investment, and amplification opportunities
- Support measurement and use data, amplification insight, and performance signals to strengthen strategies and tell a more compelling story of impact across creator-owned, brand-owned, paid, and earned environments
- Independently counsel senior leaders and influence across marketing, communications, media, product, loyalty, legal, finance, procurement, agencies, and geographic teams; lead agencies at the strategy and creative level; and build scalable decision frameworks, operating mechanisms, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Lead and develop a team of five or more while raising strategic standards and leadership capability across the broader creator and social community, including partnership with brand-level creator leads
Experience and qualifications
- You have deep, senior-level experience (10+ years) in both social strategy and creator strategy (not a social strategist who has occasionally worked with influencers, and not a creator specialist who cannot evaluate an organic social strategy)
- You have led integrated, multi-brand or enterprise programs and can coach, develop, and up-level brand-level strategies in partnership with individual brand leads
- You have translated business and marketing objectives into integrated social, creator, partnership, channel, and commercial strategies, then sold those strategies through compelling stories and data-backed recommendations to senior audiences
- You have owned or led global expansion, growth-market programs, local-market adaptation, platform-funded programs, and the scaling of creator-led assets for growth and paid social channels
- You have developed creator commercialization or emerging business models, such as affiliate platforms, social-first commerce, loyalty, product integration, performance partnerships, creator-owned audiences, or new distribution models
- You bring a portfolio and investment mindset and can recommend what to fund, stop, or sequence—and what information is needed before deciding
- You have executive presence and judgment, including the ability to counsel senior leaders, challenge assumptions, navigate organizational complexity, and influence without formal authority
- You have experience with creator amplification and measurement across owned, paid, and earned channels, using data and performance signals to sharpen strategy; you also bring strategic agency leadership and celebrity, high-profile talent, or major cultural partnership experience
- You have built and led teams, strengthened operating systems, raised talent capability beyond your direct reporting line, and are familiar with AI-enabled tools and automation
- You are an exceptional storyteller who makes complex strategic choices clear, compelling, and actionable
The total cash range for this position in New York is $167,500.00 to $234,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $268,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
