Social Media Marketing Lead, VP I - State Street Investment Management
Social Media Marketing, Vice President is responsible for leading the North America social media function and developing the strategy that advances the firm's business, brand, and marketing objectives across paid, owned, earned, and emerging social channels.
This role oversees the planning, execution, optimization, and measurement of social media programs supporting the firm's intermediary, retail, institutional, and brand priorities. The VP will lead a team of social media professionals and manage agency, creator, and platform partner relationships to drive business outcomes through innovative, audience-first marketing strategies.
The position will report to the Head of Social Media and serve as a senior strategic partner to Marketing, Product, Distribution, Communications, Compliance, Legal, and executive stakeholders. The individual will be expected to bring deep expertise in social media marketing, platform strategy, audience engagement, and campaign management within a highly regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading social media programs within asset management, financial services, wealth management, fintech, or other regulated industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the North America social media strategy across retail, intermediary, institutional, and brand marketing initiatives.
- Establish strategic priorities, platform roadmaps, and annual operating plans that align social media activity to business objectives.
- Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior marketing leadership on emerging trends, audience behaviors, content innovation, and platform evolution.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing social media team while fostering collaboration across regional and global teams.
Campaign management and audience growth
- Oversee the planning, execution, optimization, and measurement of integrated social media campaigns.
- Partner with marketing, communications, product, and distribution teams to develop audience-first programs that drive awareness, engagement, and business outcomes.
- Lead social media efforts supporting key product launches, thought leadership initiatives, events, sponsorships, and brand campaigns.
- Drive platform growth, audience engagement, and content innovation across established and emerging channels.
Platform, Influencer and Executive Programs
- Develop platform strategies across LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, and other emerging channels, with a particular focus on retail investor audiences.
- Manage strategic relationships with platform partners and identify opportunities to leverage new capabilities, beta programs, and audience insights.
- Lead influencer and creator marketing initiatives, including agency management, campaign execution, compliance coordination, and performance measurement.
- Support executive social media and thought leadership programs to elevate the firm's visibility, credibility, and reputation.
Governance, Budget and Operations
- Manage multi-million-dollar social media budgets and oversee agency, vendor, and platform partner relationships.
- Ensure social media programs comply with internal policies, governance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Communications teams to manage approvals and mitigate reputational risk.
- Establish measurement frameworks and reporting processes that connect social media activity to marketing and business objectives.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, communications, or related disciplines.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets and direct reports.
- Demonstrated expertise across LinkedIn, Meta, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social platforms.
- Strong knowledge of retail investor marketing, online communities, and evolving social media trends.
- Experience leading influencer, creator, ambassador, and executive social media programs.
- Proven track record developing and executing large-scale social media strategies and campaigns.
- Asset management, wealth management, financial services, fintech, or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working across multiple regions in a global organization.
- Demonstrated success partnering with senior executives, platform partners, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $188,750 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
