The Role

We are searching for a Director of Earned Media Strategy to work on enterprise SEO, Content Marketing, Influencer and Affiliate Marketing clients with complex core business objectives. If you have a passion for both strategy and tactical experience in SEO, Content, and Partnership Marketing, this could be a great match for expanding your critical thinking and problem solving experience in a cross-channel marketing role. This role will focus on client retention, ideating and deploying creative Earned Media solutions, growing Earned Media investment for key accounts, and new business development.

You Will Be

  • Serving as executive leadership on key accounts and be accountable for client success
  • Developing custom earned strategy plans that combine tactics from SEO, Content Marketing, Content Development, Email Marketing, Influencer Marketing and Affiliate Marketing and provide strategic direction to Channel Managers
  • Owning Earned Media projections for prospective and existing clients and consult on unique reporting solutions
  • Establishing campaign goals upon client onboarding
  • Collaborating directly with the Sales team to create opportunities for new business growth and pitch custom campaigns to prospective clients
  • Ideating Earned Cross-Channel Co-activations that strategically combine tactics from Earned channels
  • Collaborating with Paid Media Strategy & relevant Paid Media Channels for strategic alignment and tactical co-activations
  • Creating Earned Media Investment Plans for prospective and existing clients
  • Partnering with Channel teams to ensure all digital channels are prioritizing goal-oriented tactics, proactively measuring return on investment/effort and pivoting when needed
  • Leading campaign kick offs and create/review/approve campaign briefs prior to kick-off
  • Auditing existing digital campaigns within a client’s owned channels
  • Growing the total Wpromote Earned Media investment for key accounts
  • Collaborating with Product & Engineering to develop critical applications and automations to serve both internal and external processes
  • Reporting to Vice President of Earned Media and other upper executives on key client service pillars: same-store growth, retention, new business and partnerships

You Must Have

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least two of the Earned & Owned Media channels (SEO, Content Marketing, Content Development, Email Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Influencer Marketing)
  • Experience managing a fully-integrated digital campaign utilizing cross-channel insights
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong boardroom presence and ability to communicate with C-suite executives on the client-side to thoughtfully explain strategy, purpose and results
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations, action plans, and campaigns that drive high ROI
  • Strong understanding of how web experiences (e.g., desktop sites, mobile sites, mobile apps) fit into holistic marketing strategies
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in advanced measurement and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Big Query, etc
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, investment plans and forecasting through decision-making and associated tools including Excel and Google Spreadsheets
  • A track record of leading successful new business pitches that demonstrate unique strategy opportunities and ultimately generate growth
  • The ability to use consumer insights data, customer journey maps, organic performance, and key trends to inform the development of strategies and plans
  • Solid time and project management skills, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to situations rapidly
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including strong presentation skills
