Performance Marketing Manager/Director

We are leveraging our iconic domain, world-class shopping experience, compelling curated brands and products, efficient sourcing, and sophisticated marketing capabilities to disrupt the traditional ecommerce business model.
We are looking for a performance marketing expert to join the leadership team, reporting directly to the Founder and CEO. The Manager or Director of Performance Marketing will be responsible for all strategic and tactical aspects of efficiently allocating a 5-6 figure monthly media spend across multiple platforms, including Google, Facebook/Instagram, Criteo, and others.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a world-class performance marketing strategy at Gear.com
- Optimize the performance of existing platforms, including Google Search, Google Shopping, Facebook/Instagram, Criteo, etc.
- Efficiently test and optimize platforms like Bing, paid ads and Checkout on Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, display ads, influencer marketing, affiliates, retargeting, shopping engines, etc.
- Work with CEO and CFO/COO to develop ROAS goals based on financial and other metrics.
- Develop and execute plan to increase overall ROAS, at scale, to achieve goals.
- Develop performance marketing capabilities to grow year-over-year sales revenues by 2-3x.
- Build the capability to allocate organic sales to paid channels to gain a holistic view of ROAS.
- Work with head of merchandising to increase on-site conversion and email effectiveness.
- Continually improve the performance of ~200 existing brands across all platforms and campaigns.
- Efficiently build high-ROAS campaigns for at least 200 new brands in 2021.
- Expand, test, and refine data feeds and keywords for existing and new brands.
- Develop audience and geographic targeting approaches to increase ROAS.
- Understand and mitigate marketing friction that could arise with brand partners.
- Report KPIs in weekly executive meetings.
- Be willing and able to do all the items listed above – the ideal candidate can flex from getting hands dirty with tactical work to providing thoughtful strategic insights and plans.
Qualifications
- Multiple years of performance marketing experience.
- Deep expertise in Google Shopping and Google Search.
- Experience with paid advertising on Facebook/Instagram.
- Experience with paid advertising on other platforms.
- Ability to formulate and execute high-level strategy.
- Willingness and capacity to deliver high-throughput execution of daily tactics.
- Strong understanding of financial and analytical factors influencing ROAS and P&L.
- Excellent teammate who people love to work with.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven outstanding performance in highly demanding entrepreneurial environments.
- Must be a Utah resident or willing to relocate to Utah this year.

As long as you have an internet connection, and computer, you can work from anywhere. As a member of the leadership team, you’ll need to be available for in-person meetings in the greater Salt Lake City area 1-2 times per month. If you're currently based outside of Utah, we would expect relocation to Utah by the end of 2021.
Compensation will have a base salary as well as a metric-driven component. Total compensation will be in the $80,000 to $100,000 range.
